Chris Parker

As a full time turner, artist, demonstrator and teacher I enjoy being able to pass my knowledge onto others. My passion for this craft is as strong now as it was when I started. I enjoy texturing my turned pieces with various techniques from a simple wire brush to more advanced techniques, I like my pieces to be organic and individual. I find inspiration for my textures, forms from various places but most notably from the ancient ceramicists.

I have been woodturning and selling my work for over seven years. I received a "highly commended" in the British Woodturner of the year competition 2019 ( professional category ). I have demonstrated at British woodturning clubs and also demonstrated woodturning in the USA and Canada over the popular zoom platform. I hold regular IRD's ( interactive remote demonstrations ) from my workshop on a pay per view basis and will be hosting my third online tuition course ( Textures With Power ) on the 11th July 2021. 

I have recently launched my first downloadable tuition on how to use the Robert Sorby texturing tool.and as the UK government is lifting restrictions I am now able to re-open my workshop and offer in-person tuition once again.
