About
I am an an international performing arts educator and an opera singer and cellist with over 25 years experience. Some of my professional performance credits including New York Philharmonic, One World Symphony, Headlining Acts - New York Public Library, recitals, outreach and more in San Francisco, New York, New Delhi and Beijing.
I have my Orff Certification in music pedagogy, masters in Arts Administration, and Bachelor's degree in music, language and literature.
As an educator I teach elemental music literacy through creating, engagement and performance. As both a strings and choral director I apply this learning to the deeper connection and context to further learning and performance of selected repertoire.
As an arts administrator I work with teaching artists in the classroom and add arts marketing as part of performing arts curriculum.
I approach learning by having students connect with their environment. Starting warmups through creating, responding and connecting supports musical context and understanding.
For private voice lessons based on the physical growth of the body and vocal changes I teach boys ages 8-12 (audition only) and 14 and above, as well as men. For girls ages 13 and above, and women. All students should be enrolled in a choral program and have some music reading experience.
For private cello lessons students who are ages 10 and above who have their own instrument, who are currently playing in a school, after school, or community orchestra and some knowledge of reading music.
I have over 25 years of private, professional and teaching experience in the classroom and out of the classroom working with students ages 4-60. In international school IB classroom education with students ages 8-17. In addition to these experiences I am also a choral and strings director.
This includes solo and choral performances with San Francisco Symphony, New York Philharmonic, One World Symphony, New York Literary Lions; in New Delhi performances with Neemrana opera foundations, solo headliner for festivals, outreach and fundraising with different organizations. Collaborative projects with the Vienna Boys Choir, the US Embassy, and other organizations.
