Cindy Fullerton

Ms. Fullerton is a well-known music educator in the Northwest Houston area. She has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and several certifications. Her experience of 20 years has been in public and private education.   She has taught general music in three school districts: 10 years in Tomball Texas; 5 years in Huffman Texas and 3 years in Tempe Arizona. In addition to teaching in the public schools, Ms. Fullerton has been teaching privately for 20 years. She has owned and operated a studio for 7 years, “Fullerton Studio”.  Throughout the years she has taught voice, guitar and piano. Her students have ranged in ages from 3 to 93. She has been teaching private as well as group lessons.  Ms. Fullerton has also served as a Music Director for the Houston Family Arts Center, a community theater in Houston, Texas.  Now she teaches exclusively on line.  She uses Skype, Zoom, Discord and Google Meet. 

Ms. Fullerton's entire teaching philosophy is that of fun, with music theory and music literacy being a priority. Her enthusiasm and dedication to training the musicians of tomorrow is evident. She believes that music should be a pleasurable, positive experience to boost self-esteem. The main focus is on helping students gain the skills they need to enjoy the arts long after the lessons are over, for a lifetime.  

"My greatest strength is that I take the student at the level they are at and progress from there. Some of my worst teachers as I was learning took me from their advanced level and expected me to match that. A student needs to go at their own pace, not someone else. That way they are constantly being successful. Going at another's pace only makes you constantly fail.  I am continuing to learn new music and improve my own skills with instruments and singing.   As a teacher you should never stop learning yourself."
