About

I am not currently accepting new students at this time.
If you wish to schedule a lesson with me, please communicate this with me and we can make sure to find a time that fits out schedules.

I have been playing music for 20 years over a variety of instruments including piano, bass guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, kit, trumpet, flute, and many more.  I completed my Music Degree with a specialization in Education in 2021.  I am currently working on an Education degree before going into a career teaching music at a high school level.  I have been teaching private lessons for several years now, from beginners to intermediate level players.

While my standard has been set by the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano, I have explored genres including jazz, baroque, blues, folk, R&B, rock, romantic, and many more.  In the last several years of my education I have explored a number of teaching methods which I have integrated into my own style, primarily of which is the Kodaly teaching style.  I can maintain the healthy theoretical standards of classical repertoire or help you learn how to learn the chords and melody of a song so you can learn to play completely in a band/group or on your own.

Music Degree (with a specialization in Education) from Acadia University Diploma from the Gulf Island Secondary School of Music Specialization Several years of teaching private lessons across various instruments In the next two years: Education Degree from Acadia University

I am a flexible teacher that will shift the ways I teach to best suit your needs.  My primary goal and initial lesson will be about getting to know you and learning what you are interested in so that you can get the most out of our time together.   After that I will customize our lessons to what you are interested in.  I can help teach you warmups including scales and other finger/voice savers, exercises for increasing your technique, and know a variety of repertoire to help you improve your abilities when playing what you like.
