About

I’m Courtney Cappa, a licensed K–12 art teacher with eight years of experience working with students of all ages. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2017, where I was recognized as a top student in my class. Since then, I’ve led the Art Department at a public school, where I taught students who were dually enrolled in high school and community college courses. I’ve also completed contract work for local museums, contributing to both exhibitions and educational programs. I currently work as a private art instructor at my studio titled Ghastly Studio.

Teaching Style

My teaching method combines structure with flexibility. I emphasize strong foundational skills while encouraging students to explore their own interests and creative direction. I aim to create a supportive space where students feel confident taking creative risks, solving problems visually, and developing their own artistic voice through consistent practice and constructive feedback.
