Daniel Esperante

Hi there! I am a professional flutist who is passionate about educating the next generation of musicians. I have been playing the flute for nearly 17 years, and I am also pursuing studies as an orchestral conductor. During my senior year of college I had the privilege of performing Mozart's Flute and Harp Concerto as a competition winner, as well as conducting the university orchestra in another concert. I currently teach private lessons at two local middle and high schools, and I have also taught remedial music theory for college freshmen. I'm excited to work with you!

I make sure that students are comfortable with the basics before rushing on to more complex techniques. I believe in fundamentals such as scales, arpeggios, and various other exercises, and I split these up into manageable portions that are great for memorizing. My favorite technique books are the Alfred Student Instrumental  Course and Patricia George's The Flute Scale Book (A Path to Artistry).
