About

Hello! I am a Juilliard alum and the winner of the 2016 Stulberg International String Competition and the 2016 Michael Measures Prize from the Canada Council of the Arts. As a soloist, I've performed with the Toronto Symphony, the Victoria Symphony, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, and others, and as a recitalist and chamber musician have performed across the US and Canada as well as in Budapest, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Krakow. I am passionate about teaching, having dedicated my life to the study of music and the cello, and am eager to share my experience with you!

I have taught privately and in classrooms for a number of years, and believe in building up a physical understanding of the instrument while developing the ear and musicality. Playing the cello is like an intricate dance, and can teach us so much about how we move, how we listen, and how we feel. I teach not only how to play but how to practice, which is where skills like patience, focus, and imagination are honed. The benefits of practicing scales, for example, translate to everyday life. Practice is like meditation...My job is to guide the student as they discover and investigate everything that's possible as a cellist and musician, including the amazing classical and contemporary repertoire that is available to us, and I look forward to going on that journey every time!
