About

Hello! I play 2nd trumpet with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in Indiana, USA, and I have a master's degree in trumpet from the Cleveland Institute of Music. I have also held positions with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, in Ohio, and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in Richmond, Virginia, USA. In addition to these positions, I have performed with orchestras from all over the USA including the West Virginia Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, the Lexington Philharmonic, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Symphony. Along with performing extensively, I have taught hundreds of trumpet students as a private instructor. Previously, I was the adjunct trumpet instructor at Stivers School for the Arts in Dayton, Ohio, as well as a frequent guest faculty member at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.

My lessons are tailored specifically to each individual student. Based on each student's ability level, personality, and temperament, I adapt my lessons to help each student get the most out of the trumpet. However, I always take a positive, encouraging approach to help my students get where they want to go on the instrument.

Methods and Texts may vary from student to student depending on level, age, and prior experience. I typically use the following methods as a starting point with students:

Techincal Studies for the Cornet, H.L. Clarke

Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet, Arban
