About

I’m a professional guitarist and educator, Fulbright scholar, solo and chamber musician. I hold a Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory.

Music has been my passion and main occupation for over 20 years and I greatly enjoy sharing it with others. As a teacher I have over 8 years of experience; my goal is to meet everyone where they are help them grow in the desired direction and explore the rich world of music. I aim to pass on the best traditions and innovations to help my students make the best of their practice and prepare for performances, recordings or just to enjoy the guitar at home.

My experience comes from years of working with remarkable professors and performers, which included the legendary Judicael Perroy, Marcin Dylla, Marc Teicholz or John Dearman of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, as well as participation in numerous international festivals and masterclasses. I’ve been awarded over 10 prizes from international guitar competitions, including SFCM Concerto Competition, festivals in Dallas, Texas; Omis, Croatia, and many others. I’ve performed across Europe and the U.S., including Germany, Iceland, Poland, Croatia, Czech Republic. My activity included premieres of new music with Mandala Guitar Quartet and with the SFCM Guitar Ensemble.

My approach to every student is individual; I’ve taught people from 6 to 70 years old, from hobby players, kids making their first steps in music, to dedicated students who went on to get accepted to music conservatories.

The key at all levels is to enjoy learning and exploring music. I believe practicing should be a process of curious experimentation, based on proven and effective methods and traditions. In my lessons I help my students set realistic and ambitious goals, plan effective practice and get creative with it. We can work on elements of improvisation and music theory, which help understand the music we play better. Over all, I emphasize the power of regularity - its importance is one of the key lessons we learn in the musical journey.

In my teaching I draw from various practices and approaches: a range of textbooks, the Suzuki method, Alexander Technique, ABRSM grade system, my own materials and arrangements.

I welcome students of all levels and ages, willing to dedicate at least a little bit of time for regular practice, be it every day, or even a couple times a week. If you’re one of them - feel free to reach out! :)

Master of Music Degree, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, 2018

We will work on the styles that interest you and create curriculum around that.

I use variety of methods and repertoire books, from Suzuki, ABRSM, works by S. Tennant, S. Rak, M. Linnemann, R. Dyens, etudes by Brouwer, Carcassi, Sor, and many others. Materials will differ depending on the age of the student and their interests.
