David Richey

I love teaching and am excited to be joining the Lessonface platform!!  I've been playing dobro for 25 years, and guitar for 30.  On dobro, I specialize in modern stylings that can be heard in the playing of Jerry Douglas, Rob Ickes, and Randy Kohrs as well as traditional styles of players such as Josh Graves, Brother Oswald, and Mike Auldridge.  In addition, I teach both acoustic and electric guitar, specializing in flatpicking, fingerstyle (Travis picking), country, surf, classic rock, and blues.  I attended the bluegrass and country music program at East Tennessee State University, where I learned the many nuances of band organization/coaching, practicing/teaching techniques, and being a professional musician.  Whether you are just starting out or are a seasoned player looking to expand your style and technique, I would be thrilled to help you achieve the level of musicianship that you aspire!  

My teaching style is catered to the individual.  I like to find out your musical inspirations and goals, and develop a program and trajectory based on these.
