Dawn Bailey is a versatile artist, moving fluidly from chamber music to opera, oratorio, and art song. Hailed as 'passionate, fiery, and vivacious,' Dawn is especially sought after for her imaginative interpretations of music from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Toronto and Master of Music in Early Music Performance from McGill University. Dawn can be heard on recordings with the Toronto Consort, Ensemble Caprice, the Theatre of Early Music, Ensemble Seraphina, and Vivavoce.
I use a student-centered approach that is tailor-made for each student. For singing students, I spend a lot of time working with students on breathing and awakening all parts of the body so as to experience the whole body as one's instrument. For piano students, I follow the Piano Adventures method books and take time to allow students to work through the books at their own pace with plenty of time to fully experience and grasp the lessons in each assignment.
