Master of Music: Louisiana State University And A&M College | Baton Rouge, LA | August 1996.
Bachelor of Music Education: Instrumental Music Education (English Minor) Louisiana State University And A&M College | Baton Rouge, LA | May 1991.

I am a retired public school music teacher who has achieved teaching certifications in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. Before retiring I was active in the National Association for Music Education, the Louisiana Music Educators Association, the Louisiana Bandmasters Association, the National Flute Association, and multiple state and regional flute associations, including the Louisiana Flute Society and Texas Flute Society.

I use many resources that are available in the public domain as free downloads, including scales, arpeggios, etudes, and solos. This is very beneficial to students with limited financial resources.

Purchasing Texts:

For Beginner and Intermediate Students I Recommend the Patricia George and Phyllis Louke books: Flute 101, Flute 102, Flute 103, etc. These books are best used in subscription lessons as a semester or year-long course.

For more advanced students I recommend the Taffanel and Gaubert Daily Exercises, Marcel Moyse's De La Sonorite,  the Trevor Wye Practice Books (available individually or in an omnibus edition), and the George and Louke Top Octave Book.
