About

Hello!
My name is Djuradj Ostojic, from Belgrade, Serbia. I have been playing piano competitively both solo and with chamber music ensembles for over 32 years. I have a master`s degree in classical piano and classical music. I have played on many competitions and had many recitals both in Europe and worldwide. First performance was with string orchestra in one of the best musical halls in my country when i was 9. Not long after that i had over 30 recitals in USA when i was 12. I enjoy all genres of music and play many of them on piano and keyboards, but as a teacher i am highly specialized in classical music.

My teaching style is very practical and very detailed. My aim is to help my students become independent thinkers, masterful technicians and creative artists. I am very patient and well organized. I value quality over quantity and aim to teach my students how to achieve more with smart and efficient studying and practicing methods that help them reach long lasting positive results.
I have been teaching classical piano lessons for over 17 years. During that time i was teaching students in musical elementary and musical high schools in Belgrade, Serbia. Those schools are "Davorin Jenko" for a year ( September 2007 - September 2008), "Mokranjac" for nine months (October 2006 - July 2007) . I also taught general musical subject in elementary schools such as "Nikola Tesla" (2015) and "Dragojlo Dudic" (2005) all in Belgrade.
Apart from those institutions i have been giving private classical piano lessons from August 2006 up to date.

I studied and got masters degree in classical piano and classical music in Faculty of Musical Arts in Belgrade, Serbia where i studied under late proffesor Nevena Popovic and her assistent professor Vladimir Cvijic.
I have also attended many masterclasses from world renowned pianists and chamber music artists such as: Prof. David Grigorian (cello - chamber music), Prof Helena Bondarenko (violin - chamber music), Prof. Friedemann Berger (piano - chamber music; classical piano), Prof. Dusan Trbojevic (classical piano), Prof Jokut Mihajlovic (classical piano), Prof. Arbo Valdma (classical piano).
I have played with Serbian military symphonic orchestra "Stanislav Binicki" twice, played with string orchestra of Musical School "Mokranjac", played with "Young Trio Toskov" in concerts of chamber music in Serbia and in Germany.

My teaching method and piano literature depend on age and expertise of my students. For beginners i use specialized literature written by Ferdinand Bayer, and for more advanced students i recommend piano pieces that are for their age and level of skills.
