About

I am Dominic Rodio, a guitarist, songwriter, and artist. I have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old (10+ years) and teaching since 2021, most notably at W.O. Smith, a non-profit organization in Nashville, TN. I am currently studying towards by undergraduate degree in commercial guitar performance at Belmont University in Nashville, where I will be graduating in 2024. My expertise lies in rock and indie music, while my time in study has led me to become proficient in several genres, including jazz, blues, funk, and classical guitar. Beyond school, I have been playing live guitar in bands for over 7 years. I am currently active in 2 bands; The Meatball Mob, a rock band based in Cleveland, Ohio, and Trip Sydney, a pop punk group in Nasvhille, TN. My time as a bandmate and performer has shaped my capabilities in musical communication, leadership, and confidence; skills that I work to pass on to my students while I teach. I have also released solo music under my own name since 2020, including a full-length album in 2021. I have dedicated my life to music, as my main endeavors are studying guitar, playing shows (solo and in bands), freelance guitar work, and teaching students like you!

Top 8 finalist for the 2nd annual Nashville SC Riff Off in 2022; the youngest guitarist to achieve the award.

In my time as an instructor, I have taught acoustic and electric guitar in the styles of rock, pop, jazz, blues, and Spanish guitar.

The ultimate goal is to provide you the tools you need to become the guitarist that YOU want to be. I want to know what guitarists/styles inspire you, as well as what songs you would like to learn to play. At the same time, I aim to provide you with the fundamentals and techniques that are necessary to become an experienced and well-rounded musician. I want to help you explore your musical journey and to play the instrument that you love.
