Dr. Grieco

DR. STEPHEN J. GRIECO is an active composer and music educator with an earned Doctor of Musical Arts Degree, and a progressive leadership record at the executive level for over fifteen (15) years having served as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Chief Administrative Officer, Dean of Arts & Humanities, and Music Department Chair.  Currently, he teaches music full-time where he heads the bachelor of arts in the Music Industry at a University outside of Philadelphia, PA.

As a teacher and composer, his compositions have been recorded, published, and performed in Europe and throughout the United States. Some highlighted awards for Grieco’s music include the North American Artist Foundation, Pro Musica, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and the Contemporary Music Society. His scholarly achievements have been presented and acknowledged as a guest composer and lecturer at national conferences, colleges, and universities including New York University, Ball State University, and the University of Arizona.

Dr. Stephen J. Grieco holds a doctoral degree in Music Composition from Arizona State University, a Master of Music degree in Composition from Bowling Green State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

I believe music should be fun, creative, and educational, rooted in the best practices of music theory and pedagogy. I craft my lessons with patience and care to meet student goals and build on their existing abilities.  

Music is something that is a part of all of our daily lives and provides enjoyment to all ages. The benefits of learning music and playing an instrument include enhancing brain activity and focus, improving muscle dexterity and coordination, and promoting creativity.
