About

I have been teaching music for over 25 years. I have taught to a wide age range of students from 5 year olds to 60 year olds during private lessons at home, in private institutions and in Government institutions. I have taught at different levels from Primary schools to post-graduate students at University.

My music is performed regularly in Malta as well as abroad - in the UK , Russia , Italy, Greece and Belarus. Some of my scores have been included in the prestigious Schumanhauss museum in Bonn, Germany. I have composed for a wide range of ensembles including for symphonic orchestra as well as ensembles combining acoustic and electronic elements such as my multi-media opera Il-Kantilena , Karba ta’ Ħames Mitt Sena, Karba ta’ Żmienna. This work was commissioned for the national celebrations of the fortieth anniversary of Malta as a Republic and is the first ever Maltese multi-media opera. I was the first contemporary Maltese composer ever to be played at the Valletta International Baroque Festival when my Concertino for Guitar and Harpsichord was premiered at the Manoel Theatre in January 2017. In September 2018, my work for solo guitar ‘Mdina Suite’ was premiered at the Musikverein, Vienna.

I have single handedly initiated several projects, one of them being City of Humanity which is the first ever Maltese opera cycle. The first opera in the cycle City of Humanity 1 – Behind the Fortifications was premiered to great acclaim in November 2018.Anothe

r international project I have started is Hearing Orpheus Today which consists of a series of chamber music concerts concentrating on new works by living composers.

During my long years in teaching music, I have never met 2 students who are exactly identical. Each and every student I have and have had  differed in aptitude, talent, behaviour, commitment and several other factors which will influence his/her progress in her music lessons.

This experience has instilled in me an intuition that enables me to gradually tailor the teaching style and method according to the student in question as I analyze the student's characteristics from one lesson to another.

Thus the teaching style will be tailor-made for each student.
