About
Hi! My name is Denis. I'm a professional musician, guitarist and teacher. I have teacher experience for 20 years. I teach not only guitar, but also music theory, improvisation, arranging, working with ensembles. And I work with different ages, with children, teenagers and adults.
My students have big success in music. They are winners of international contests, guitarist in known bands.
For a long period of time I had a lot of gigs in Europe and Asia with Big-Band. I also play in different ensembles and it's a huge range of music genres from popular music to gipsy jazz!
I also write my own music. So I have knowledge in composition, arranging and of course in recording, mixing and mastering music.
Working as a teacher and my career as musician always helps me to know what kind of music popular today, what people listening now and what they what to study to play!
Teaching Style
My methods of working with students depends on conditions (circumstances). If the place where I work have straight program, I follow this program. For example, if it is college or musical school where we have exams, technical exams and have definite scales, compositions, songs and so on that students must play than we prepare exactly these skills and compositions. But if study organized more freely, than I build program depends on each student, his or her possibilities, interests, skills. We start from simple things, exercises, basics of guitar playing, chords, caged system, scales, songs, notes, basics of music reading, a then go further and learn accompanying fo different styles of music, improvisation. Again all stuff depends on student, on what kind of music he prefers. It can be jazz, blues, rock, country music. Of course we not only learning how to play guitar but also we learn music in general, I mean we learn how each style of music sounds, what the difference between genres, on which idea this genres builds and who are the most known musicians in these styles. Knowing music history and listening a lot of music helps students to expend frameworks and have more opportunities to express themselves.
