I am a professional jazz guitarist holding a Bachelor's and Master's degree in jazz guitar from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre as well as the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark in Aalborg.
I have been working as a guitar teacher in music schools for the last 2,5 years teaching students from age 6 to age 17. 2,5 years ago I started to teach in Sigulda, Latvia at the children's music school and after that, I moved to Iceland where I am now working as the head of the music department in Thorshofn.
Besides teaching I am a professional musician playing with my trio in Denmark and Latvia. I have played in notable venues such as E5(Copenhagen), HeadQuarters(Aarhus), Jazz Studio(Nuremberg), Trompete(Riga), and others. Right now residing in Iceland where I am teaching and mostly focusing on playing solo guitar and composing.
I teach students of all ages. The most important is that a student is dedicated to learn music and learn how to fulfill their own goals. My techniques are to eventually teach every student how to practice purposefully. I like to give some assignments and tests once in a while so the student could see his/her own progress better. I focus on motivating students to play their instruments.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in jazz guitar at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
I work mostly by my own method, but it is been developed from using materials such as Modern Guitar Method from Berklee press and combining it with materials I have collected during my studies in Estonia and Denmark as well as while studying with private tutors.
