About

I'm a music teacher who has worked with hundreds of students, and has toured extensively for over a 40 years. This is the place where "real world playing experience and the art of teaching music come together. I've developed a proven, yet practical teaching method that creates an environment of excitement, enthusiasm, and expectation that fosters learning, and continues to yield undeniable results.

While in high school, I began teaching guitar. I started off teaching friends. This lead to me teaching guitar at the "Krills Music School in Upper Darby Pa. For 2 years, I taught at Krills. At one point while in still in high school I had over 30 guitar students! Along with that, I began playing the local Philadelphia clubs, and I began doing session work for various recording artist. Upon graduating high school, I began touring with various acts nationally and internationally. After 10 years of extensive traveling, I attended Temple University's, "Esther Boyer's College of Music." where I majored in "Jazz Performance for Guitar." Often time, people would call Temple University seeking music teachers, and while I was attending Temple, several students were referred to me by the college! I also continued to perform and record with several acts in the Philadelphia area.

In the early 2000's I began teaching men in prison to play the guitar. It was here that I began to develop a method for teaching music that kept students both engaged, and excited.  I taught in both a classroom setting, and one on one individualized lessons. As the curriculum developed, so did my students! The results spoke for themselves. We began to see men with no prior musical experience begin to thrive as musicians. After a few months, my students put on a recital. We had performances that showcased varying degrees competence... but every student from the beginner to advanced had improved, and were thrilled to participate in our recital. Over the course six and a half years, I've taught hundreds of men to play the guitar. Now some 20 years later, I'm teaching people to play music, and I'm still refining my teaching methods
