Hi!
I love to teach and to share the joy of music with others!
My teaching style is patient and methodical, meaning I am clear and teach in steps
to provide the student with a strong foundation.
It is important for students to learn to read music and also learn about
music theory or the "grammar rules" of music.  :)

I have been teaching for over 25 years and have taught ALL ages,
from 5 to 79!  I teach beginners as well as professionals.

It is my job to work with you and determine your learning style so that
you are set to succeed!

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music (minors in piano performance and psychology), DePaul University, 1991

Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (Piano) - Music Teachers National Association

25+ years private teaching experience

3 years classroom teaching experience - PreK - 8th Grade General Music

20+ years choral directing / accompaniment experience

I take a methodical approach and it is my goal for students to be able to read and play
on their own, as opposed to a student just mimicking what I do (learn from rote).

Students are assigned a method book (John Schaum, Alfred, Piano Adventures, etc) and I supplement
throughout the lessons with handouts, exercised, etc.
