About

Hello,
I am Esengül Yıldız, I have obtained my Master's degree in both violin pedagogy and violin performance at Amsterdam Art University in addition to Bachelor's degree in classical violin in the same institution. While continuing my active concert life in the Netherlands by performing as a professional violinist in a wide range of ensembles and orchestras, I also participate in significant orchestras such as Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra and Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, which is one of the leading music institutions in Turkey. Thanks to my profession, I had countless chances to give concerts in fascinating concert halls all around the world. On the other hand, it has become my passion to convey my musical experiences to my students in all age groups and levels. It is a pleasure for me as a pedagog to make the musical journey of each of them both enjoyable and productive with diverse violin teaching methods. I prefer using those significant resources in the online lessons to a colorful group of students from all over the world for about 7 years. I would like to inspire you in this regard and contribute joy and motivation to your musical journey!

I have studied at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in violin class of Prof. Tjeerd Top, who is associate concertmaster in Royal Concergeouw Orchestra. During my violin studies, I had the opportunity to participate in solo masterclasses of important artists such as Alexander Markov, Sergey Kravchenko, Kirill Terentiev, Nancy Wu, Mincho Minchev, Mihaela Martin, Ani Schnarch, Itzhak Rashkovsky and Pinchas Zukerman. I also attended many festivals and academies: Musica Orbis, Festival Konvergencie, Emilia Romagna, Agustin Aponte, Young Euro Classic, Tsinandali Festival and Old Ox Festival. I also have obtained many prizes in international competitions, some of them: Agustin Aponte Music Competition (Jury Special Prize), Serbia Music Competition (First Prize), Pancho Vladigerov Young VirtuosoCompetition (First Prize). Since 2017, I have taken place as a first violin tutti member at Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra and Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra in Turkey, and as well as participating in concert tours of many youth orchestras such as European Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Slovak Youth Orchestra and Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra and thus I had the opportunity to work with Gianandrea Noseda, Antonio Pirolli, Sascha Goetzel and Paavo Järvi among others. Smetana Hall, Dvorak Hall, Pesti Vigado Hall, Berlin Konzerthaus, Slovak Radio Hall, Vienna Radio Kultur Haus and Kodaly Hall are among the important venues, I gave concerts with Turkish National Youth Orchestra and Slovak Youth Orchestra as the concertmaster.

I studied many different methods and for the violin students my preference is to start with the combination of Cohen, M., Violin Method: Pupil's Book 1 Nelson, S., Essential String Method Violin Book 1 and Suzuki Book 1. I can teach fluently in both English and Turkish as well as in some German (improving all the time). I completed my Master of music in violin performance at the with a minor in Music Education. At the same time I have a certificate in teaching artistry from a certificate program called ‘The Global Leaders Program, where for my fieldwork assignment, I traveled to Chile and Jamaica and there I taught music intensively to kids that are underserved.

I believe that a good teacher is the one who is open to learning (because learning never stops) and who has an experience in various situations. I am a very experienced teacher with an open mind and I am here to help you or your kid to learn an instrument with the most effective and fun way. If you feel like I am the right teacher for you, you can book a trial lesson!
