About

Evan Kirshen is a very highly sought after trumpet player in the United States, as well as internationally. He has performed with organizations such as the Thuringia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Markus Stockhausen Intuitive Music Orchestra,  as well as the Fredonia Baroque Trio. Evan has also served as principle trumpet of the SUNY Fredonia Symphony Orchestra, Principle Trumpet with the SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble, and has appeared as a soloist many times with many of SUNY Fredonia chiors. 

In 2018 Evan was awarded the prestigious DAAD ( German Academic Exchange Service) undergraduate stipend to study trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. He was one of only a select few undergraduates chosen from among the North American applicants to receive this award. 

Evan earned his bachelors degree at  SUNY Fredonia , studying under Sycil Mathai ( Formally of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra) and Roderick MacDonald (Formerly of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra). Evan also studied at the HfM Franz Liszt Weimar (in Germany) under Uwe Komischke (Formally of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra).

Aside from music, Evan is a language enthusiast, a chess player, and a runner.

Whatever the age/skill level of the student, I take great care to  tailor lessons so that they instructive as well as fun! 

I also teach all of the other brass instruments, at the beginner/intermediate levels.
