About

Teacher of woodwind and piano, I have five years of experience in multiple settings in different international schools, most recently in Asia and the Caribbean. Throughout this time, I have taught individual, group and whole class lessons. Focusing predominantly on clarinet and saxophone, I started to learn at aged eight, eventually going on to complete a Masters in Music Education from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. During this time, I have created a clarinet choir in addition to partaking in wind bands.

Teaching Style

I firmly believe in exploration and individualization. Each lesson I teach involves the student in their repertoire, choosing what they enjoy to play but equally as challenging.

Offering a trial lesson, Faye likes to use this time to determine students specific goals, tailoring her methodology to the students best interests.

As a wind player, I learned classical; I pursued jazz and theory after playing with an amazing band in South Africa!

My music teaching experience includes working as a whole class tutor using Charanga to facilitate in a local SEN school for one year. Here I taught a mixture of instruments including glockenspiel and ukulele.

In 2020, I started working for local music hubs, North Somerset and Bristol Beacon. Here I taught whole class instruments, individual and small groups. Mainly woodwind but also windband and ukulele. I was involved in a project to allow children who couldn't access music, to be able to access music within school, providing instrumental group lessons using the Solfage system.

In 2023, I moved to Cambodia. I created a Music Curriculum here that focussed on instruments and their place in the world. Students could try out these instruments and progress if funding allowed. I taught individual ukulele and clarinet here too which has now moved online since moving to the Cayman Islands. Here, I teach individual piano and woodwind lessons in different schools and settings.
