About

Hi! My name is Francisco, I am an Argentinian musician living in Maastricht (Netherlands). I am 32 years old and had been playing guitar since the age of 12.

My background is somehow broad, but pretty common among fellow musicians : rock, blues, classical guitar and later on, making my way to jazz guitar which is my main focus. At the moment I'm finishing my formal studies at at the conservatory, under guidance of Joachim Schonecker and Martin Schulte.

I really enjoy sharing music live with other people, i feel this is one of the main reasons for making music a lifestyle, it is so much fun!  I think that a goal we all aim for is to be free, to really be able to play, learn to listen and improvise and be at ease with ourselves in this realm.

I am looking forward to meeting you and go along with you on your musical journey!

I have taught private students since i was in school. At the same time, i had always been very curious and took mental notes on the different approaches taken by the teachers i had studied with along the years.

My style consists on developing a very open, two-way communication with my students, so as to give them an active role in our relationship. Depending on the character of each student i would adjust the flow of the lessons. For example, some people are more inclined to work on their technique and some less, but either way, that is a subject we have to address for sure! So, it is possible that with one person, instead of just going through Abel Carlevaro's technical studies, i would sort of disguise those excercises in a more musical context, which anyhow it is something that i feel is very important, to always apply everything so as to sound like we are actually making music and not just running through scales and so forth.

- Currently in my 3rd year of Bachelor in Jazz Guitar at Conservatorium Maastricht studying under the mentorship of Martin Schulte and Joachim Schoenecker

- I attended Masterclasses by renowed musicians such as: Lage Lund, Mike Moreno, Peter Bernstein, Romain Pilon and Jesse Van Ruller

- I studied 3 years of Classical Guitar at Conservatorio Juan Jose Castro (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

- Private lessons with:

Sergio Romano, Ramiro Franceschin, Juan Pablo Hernandez, Ramiro Olaciregui, David Morris

- As a teacher, I have provided private lessons early on in my development as I found out that I felt a real passion for communicating and exchanging knowledge with other. In 2016 I relocated to Ecuador and between 2017 and 2020 i taugh guitar lessons at a private academy call Studio Ensamble.

At the moment I teach some students of different levels, locally here in Maastricht (Netherlands).

For thechnique of both hands, i really like to work with Abel Carlevaro's books. Though they are more "classical guitar oriented" i've found that they are also really useful for developing a good coordination of both hands, strenght, articulation, sound, and so forth.

For fretboard knowledge i work on triads, scales, and arpeggios in positions, horizontally, vertically and transversally.

Depending on the student interests, we take on determined tunes and use the as vehicles to learn particular aspects of playing such as time feel, scales, chord voicings, etc
