About

My name is Gaelan Bellamy, and I've been teaching guitar professionally for over 15 years. I have a degree in classical guitar and music theory from the University of Texas in Austin, and I've been performing nationally since 2007. My passion for teaching is rooted in a deep curiosity for the physical mechanics of guitar technique. This curiosity has led me down the rabbit hole of practically every technique imaginable, and I pride myself in being able to explain and demonstrate these techniques in a concise, fun, and creative manner.

My teaching style focuses on building technical proficiency, harnessing creativity, and cultivating style within a fun and casual lesson experience.  I enjoy finding each student's unique interests and curating lessons to fit their individual needs.  If you're looking for a fun, energetic, and informative lesson experience, I'm your guy!

Classical Guitar:  Much of my classical guitar method is borrowed from my time studying with Professor Adam Holzman at the University of Texas.  While I don't adhere strictly to these methods, I do use their fundamentals in all of my classical teaching.

Aaron Shearer guitar method -  best method for creating a beautiful right hand tone!

Fernandi Sor studies and Mauro Giuliani studies - great for right hand arpeggios and classical guitar fundamentals!

Pumping Nylon - great for building chops!

Electric Guitar:
