About
Hi, my name is Gauri. I have 5 years of teaching experience and currently work at two music schools based in Manchester. To excel as a music educator, I studied music education and community under Dr. Adam Grieg and attended teaching seminars by Trinity Laban Conservatoire with Tim Palmer. I’ve had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues in the UK and India, including St. Paul’s Hall, The Stein Auditorium, Sai Auditorium, and Siri Fort Auditorium.
Grateful for the opportunities I've received, I am committed to giving back to society through community-focused music projects. I have worked with the Sunshine Orchestra in Chennai, an initiative founded by A. R. Rahman to provide free music education to underprivileged children. In this role, I mentored young musicians, helping them develop their skills and fostering a love for music.
Additionally, I have been involved with Music and the Deaf in the UK, an organization dedicated to providing musical opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Through workshops and performances, I’ve contributed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can experience the joy of music.
Teaching Style
The internet is full of many many talented piano teachers, who are doing amazing work with their students. However, I feel that there are some musical topics that remain untalked about because of how challenging it might be to talk about them, topics such as ear training, improvisation and music theory. My class covers all those topics and teaches you how to play your favorite songs.
