My name is German Sozzi. I've been playing guitar for fifteen years and playing live on different projects for ten years. I began teaching privately in 2012 and have been doing so ever since. In the year 2014 I had my first experience as a classroom teacher. I obtained my degree in musical composition at UCA (Catholic University of Argentina) in 2015. I also have studies in pedagogy and learning at USAL.
Through my studies on musical composition I was able to understand the general principles of music, which led me to be able to play in different styles such as rock, tango, blues, jazz, funk, and many more.
At the moment, apart from working as a music teacher and guitar instructor, I am working with singer María Cueto and working on my debut album. I am also studying jazz guitar with world renowned musician Juampy Juarez.
The most important thing to me is to listen to the student and find out what he or she needs, what is it that he or she wants to incorporate in their playing or musical vocabulary so we can work together on adding new skills. Also, if the student does not have a clear idea of what he or she wants, I can give my opinion regarding what areas we can that develop or strengthen. That is as far as students with musical experience is concerned. When it comes to teaching beginner students, with very little or no experience in music, it's important, once again, to listen to them and find out what music styles they like so they can learn in a joyful and fun way.
