Giannis Koudounas

My experience as a musician, performer and brass tutor has developed a passion and personal commitment to three things: fostering a positive learning environment for students with various backgrounds, maximising individual student performance and developing student interest in different brass performance techniques as well as music theory knowledge growth. Receiving the Alice Daugherty Chaplin Prize for Excellence in Performance as well as the Royal Holloway Principal's Master Scholarship made me eager to develop my skills and practical methods as an educator.

In my most recent position as a music teacher at the East London School of music, I developed highly effective lesson plans, motivational exercises and assessments that helped students receive well-rounded music education and explore their highest capabilities as emerging musicians. As a music teacher, I have been successful in assisting less-fortunate students to thrive both academically and socially via promoting a love for music and music-making as well as ensuring students have individual targets for achievement.
