Guthrie Brown

I am a 29 year old singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist currently living in Nashville TN. I grew up in a musical family and learned how to play the guitar at the age of 6 from my mother and older brother. I love working with students of all ages and levels of experience. Music has shaped me and is a language that everyone can speak. I love all genres (styles) of music from Rock to Country, to R&B and Jazz. I'd be honored to work with you!

I have learned so much by listening and having patient inspiring teachers. Being a sing-songwriter, I don"t believe in the "correct way" of going about learning music. Everyone learns at their own pace and in their own way. I like to teach the fundamentals of chords and scales, through learning a song that my student is moved and passionate about and care preform for themselves and others. To a more advanced student, I would teach them about the Nashville Number system which helped me tremendously with learning how to play songs quickly. At the end of the day, music is supposed to be fun and pursued with passion.
