About
My Name is Harrington Luther, I'm currently studying at Berklee College of Music.
Too many times I have heard somebody say "I wasn't born with the talent to play an instrument", whether it be singing, Guitar, Piano, or whatever.
This just ISN'T true, because ANYBODY can learn to play an instrument.
I've been playing and creating music for about 5-6 years, and am still honing my own skills, but I would love to teach people anything that I am able to help with. I am a tutor at my school for songwriting, production, and Berklee's harmony curriculum. If I don't know the answer to a question right away, I will find out in a matter of moments!
I look forward to spreading my passion for music into the world!
Teaching Style
I don't have a SET teaching style, I prefer to adapt to my students' learning styles.
Whether it's just me talking and explaining things, Drawing pictures on a white board, Playing live music, Looking for examples of playing styles and listening to others' music, or even just having you pick up an instrument and try it for yourself!
I don't want people paying me if they aren't coming away with new knowledge, because that's just not what I'm here for.
I want to make learning an instrument, or a DAW, or whatever it may be... A good experience, and develop a skill that you may use for whatever you would like.
Curriculum
If I were to recommend any coming songwriter on a good book, it would be the book written by my professor called "Writing Better Lyrics" By Pat Pattinson
This book is a VERY amazing resource for anybody who's been writing songs, anybody who is NEW to writing songs, or even writers who are experiencing a lack of inspiration. It covers SO many really amazing songwriting techniques, and things that completely fly over some people's heads!
