Students will develop a sound knowledge of note reading, music theory, and technical work as well as playing music for enjoyment or to reach certain goals. I draw on a wide range of books and resources for my students as I take an individual approach to the learning experience. I teach a range of genres, including classical, contemporary and traditional music. I like teaching improvisation and composition. I also teach students to create sounds on their instrument for the purpose of relaxation, for themselves or others.

For Lever Harp beginners, I may use the Sylvia Woods series, as well as books by Bonnie Goodrich.

For Cello beginners, I use A New Tune A Day book 1 and other books including the Cello Time series.

For Piano, I like to use the Hal Leonard series of beginner books, and the Bastien Older Beginner book.

Some further repertoire may be chosen from a variety of sources including the Australian Music Examinations Board syllabus.
