About
Hugo Moreno plays trumpet, and lives in Brooklyn, NY. He is currently solo trumpet in West Side Story on Broadway.
Hugo is a teaching artist with the American Composers' Orchestra, and has taught at Poly Prep Academy and the Avenues School.
Hugo plays and has played classical and other music with The Manhattan Brass, The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, at the Marlboro, Spoletto, and Atlantic Music Festivals, and with Lila Downs y la Misteriosa.
Hugo also regularly plays with Jarana Beat, The Filmharmonic Brass, The Gregorio Uribe Big Band, Banda Nueva York, Hora Decima, with Hip Control, and at Trinity Lutheran Church.
I feel that learning through inspiration and imitation leads towards mastery (and fun), and that finding the right teacher is the most important thing you can do. I strive to be as effective a demonstrator and facilitator as the student before me needs.
