About

Hi, I'm Ihor. I have 18 years of experience playing guitar and writing songs. Have you always dreamed of playing guitar or writing your own music? Are you looking to bring your talent to the next level? Whatever the case may be I am here to help you get there! As a kid I was inspired to play guitar after hearing guys like Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson and Muddy Waters. I've always had a great love for music, especially rock'n'roll and blues, which is why I am so eager to share my passion with others! I have been in bands since I was 14 and I'm currently the guitarist, singer and songwriter in a band called Television Skies. This experience has allowed me to grow as a musician and explore new depths in my playing and songwriting that I could never have imagined. I've written hundreds of songs and have a mastery in creating useful chord progressions, melodies, arrangements, lyrics, etc.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Theater Performance from Bard College at Simon's Rock. My degree allowed me to immerse myself even further in the performing arts and helped me understand the commitment and process necessary for preparing for auditions, different roles, or your next show! I've taught everyone from complete beginners, to intermediate and advanced players. From working with a variety of ages and people, I have learned that no two students are the same, which is why I tailor each of my sessions to the individual student. I'm passionate about sharing my love of music with my students, and I'm eager to work with all ages and abilities! When it comes to songwriting I use piano, guitar, and a software called Logic Pro X to build and arrange my ideas. I am happy to teach others how to use Logic Pro X to help in their songwriting endeavors as well.

Teaching Style

I like to keep my lessons pretty loose! I love teaching students music they love. I don't normally have a curriculum or plan set up before working with a new student. The first thing I like to do is just have a conversation about what inspires you as a musician. I want to know where you're coming from musically and what your favorite songs are. If there's a certain lick, riff, song or even chord progression that get's you excited I want to help you learn how to play it!

Curriculum

Wherever you'd like to get to on your journey I am here to help. I am flexible in my teaching methods and want to accommodate any needs you may have. I look forward to playing music with you and sharing my experience to help develop yours! Send me a message and let's get started!
