About

I am the Concertmaster of Regensburg Philharmoniker. I’ve been performing and working extensively in Germany after my training in Indiana University. With over 15 years of teaching experience under my belt, I very much look forward to sharing with you my musical heritage and professional experience as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra violinist!

With guidance from Prof. Miriam Fried, Prof. Ilya Kaler, and Prof. Keng-Yuen Tseng, I proudly carry and teach the learnings and traditions of the Franco-Belgien, Russian and the Heifetz Violin Schools.

Before my current Concertmaster position, I held principal orchestral positions including Second Assistant Concertmaster (Neubrandenburg Philharmoniker), Principal Second Violin (Nürnberger Philharmoniker), as well as Section Violinist (Bielefelder Philharmoniker, MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra).

As a soloist and active chamber musician, I have appeared in music festivals such as Sarasota Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival, Indiana Summer Music Festival, and Rose-Hulman Fine Arts Series in USA, as well as Villa Rosental Series in Leipzig, Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie in Augsburg, and Villa Sachsen throughout Europe.  My own String Quartet, Kuttner String Quartet, was chosen to be the Quartet in Residence during my studies at Indiana.

Whether you want to study with me in-person or virtually, I promise that I will do what I can to help you reach your goals and enjoy violin playing along the journey.

I love music and I enjoy playing the violin.  If you are like me, you already have the most crucial things to become a violinist. The rest can be cultivated.

Violin learning includes three major concentrations: Technique, Musicality and Performance. Violin playing naturally becomes beautiful and easy when we achieve the respective stages of Ease, Beauty and Joy within these disciplines, most profoundly when one strikes a perfect balance (harmonious balance) of the three.

My teaching methods will adopt and adjust to each student’s ability and musical goal, so I can help you hone your techniques, expand your musical knowledge, and explore your musical interests and potential, whether it is to pursue music professionally, to become a music educator, or to simply have the ability to play violin.

Having won auditions and worked for several professional orchestras in Germany, I am very familiar with the different orchestral positions.   I would like to help you prepare for orchestra audition, summer festival audition, or college audition.
