Hi! I am Jake, I am a Junior in Highschool at Viera High School, I have played both Bb Clarinet and the Alto Saxophone for 6 years and I am in the top Jazz and Wind Ensemble at VHS. I have been taking lessons for almost 5 years so I am well rounded enough to teach people myself.
Teaching Style
Depending on how experienced you are we will work on technical practices to improve things like good articulation, accuracy of hitting the correct notes, fingerings and alternate fingering for notes. We will also work on scales (certain amount of scales depending on the grade you are in) because alot of pieces of music use scales in them, I will also help you develop a better tone and how to play more lyrically.
Curriculum
Technical books, or beginner books that i can use to help you start to read music, or if you already know how to play the instrument decently we will work on more advanced stuff and I can provided copies of papers and exercises to help you improve, but once I see where you are at on playing the instrument I can let you know what things/books you might want to consider purchasing.
