About
Hello! I am a private music teacher from Sevierville, TN. I grew up in a very musical family and started playing the violin in 2nd grade. When I was about 15 years old, I started teaching private lessons. While my main musical skill is with the violin, I also have experience teaching cello, beginner piano, beginner guitar, and ukulele. I have enjoyed being a part of local musical groups/orchestras for the past 15+ years and desire to give others a love for classical music.
Teaching Style
Previous Groups: Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra, Cornelious Youth Orchestra, Lake Norman Orchestra, Scruffy City Orchestra (current)
I have been playing for weddings (either as a solo violinist or part of a trio) for the past 15+ years.
I currently assist with a youth orchestra program at Christian Academy of the Smokies in Sevierville. I have also lead many groups, both instrumental and vocal, to state wide fine arts competitions in TN.
Curriculum
I focus more on classical styles of music but realize that it's important for my students to have a wide range of skills in their music repertoire. So I also incorporate some bluegrass, celtic, hymns, and modern pieces to their lessons.
I always recommend that my beginner string students purchase and use the Strictly Strings violin/cello book. This has proven to be a great help with teaching my students to read music well.
