I have loved music my entire life. Some of my earliest memories are of playing on my mom's piano. I started singing in choir when I was 5, started piano when I was 7 and started French Horn at 12. I haven't ever stopped. I became a music teacher and for the last 16 year so have taught middle school band, general music and ukulele full time.
I had a thriving private lesson studio for nearly 10 years, but stopped when I became a mom. Now that my son is a bit older and goes to bed early I have some free time in the evenings that I would love to use to help you learn to play an instrument.
I believe everyone has musical talent and yes, playing an instrument is challenging but not impossible. Let me help you achieve your goals.
I have 10 years experience as a private lesson teacher for French Horn students. 16 years experience as a middle school band director and music teacher. The past 6 years I have taught ukulele classes daily at the middle school as well.
I teach in a very urban, very diverse district and I really enjoy the different perspectives that come with different students and different backgrounds.
My students are generally very successful. I believe that every student can achieve, and while I am a thorough planner for lessons I am never so attached to a plan that I can change it to best need the student's needs.
