About
My name is Javi, I'm originally from Argentina but my passion for music brought me to the US when I was 18, where I studied professional music at Berklee College of Music. I moved to California after finishing my degree and have been working in several areas of music since then, including writing music for advertisements and visual media, recording as session musician for other artists, playing in wedding bands, and teaching. I also write and produce my own music and play in several bands around the LA area.
I’ve been teaching online through Zoom for about two years, roughly since the beginning of the pandemic. I’ve mostly had beginners and some students who wanted to work on their songs and have me help them with songwriting and production. Although I like all my students, I’ve enjoyed teaching kids the most because they always seem the most amazed by music and develop interest very early on. I’ve had mostly guitar and piano players, some singers and theory students (including successfully preparing a kid for an audition at Orange County school of the arts).

In my first class I ask students what their music goals are and I develop a personalized plan for each one to help them reach it, including figuring out songs or solos that they want to learn, explaining the underlying theory of music they like so they can implement it for themselves, leaving them exercises to practice between classes and being 100% present with them through lessons, always bringing an attitude of encouragement, support and amiability.
