I'm a professional singer, songwriter, producer, and performer with over 25+ years of experience in the music business. I am currently a full time staff writer at Sony Music Publishing Nashville and have written for both major and independent publishers such as Spirit Music Nashville, Better Angels Music, and Swat Music Group. I have had over 120 accredited songs recorded during my career from artist such as Reba McEntire, Brantley Gilbert, Parmalee, Chris Janson, Granger Smith, Colt Ford & Matt Stell to name a few, while also obtaining Grammy and Song Of The Year nominations, along with tv/film sync placements. I have taught many songwriting workshops and led many songwriting camps, while also working as songwriting mentor for well known companies such as Nashville Songwriters Association International and Global Songwriters Connection. I have also produced records on many major label and independent artist, while touring extensively throughout the United States. I love sharing the things I have learned over the many years in the music business and helping singer/songwriters alike take their careers to the next level. Whether you've never written a song or you're well on your way to making it a career, my major focus is on songwriting in all areas from songwriting 101 to advanced commercial radio songwriting. In depth focus on every area of songwriting from form and structure, to melodies, ideas, and hooks.
I am also available to teach acoustic guitar to help you get started creating and finding melodies that will help you obtain fully finished songs both lyrically and melodically, to make you an all around songwriter. I can help you take songwriting to the next level, who knows, you may even end up making a living off of it. How cool is that?
I'm experienced in home recording with a focus on Pro Tools from set up, to getting you fully fluent in recording your very own demos. I can help lead you in the process of having songs demo ready to play for your favorite fans or that publisher you have dreamed of writing for.
I will teach you step by step while also passing along "tricks of the trade" that will help you gain the edge over other songwriters at your level while also teaching to your needs. My teaching is laid back, patient, and fun, but dedicated to making you the best songwriter you can be. No sugar coating here! Lets get to work on getting your songs recorded or just showcasing them to your friends and family!
