Lesson Feesfrom $30.00 / 60 Minutes
I am a full time woodturner, teacher, artist and creative. I teach private lessons as well as virtual demos both nationally and internationally. For the last 5 years I've been one of the primary Woodturning instructors at the Craft Alliance School of Art and Design in St. Louis MO and have been an assistant instructor for Kirk DeHeer at the John C Campbell Folk School. I was in the JCCFS catalog for my own full class in September of 2020 but Covid prevented us from getting together. Currently in the John C. Campbell Folk School Class Catalog for 2021 and excited to be part of the new virtual Folk School Classrooms here!
Woodturning teacher at the Craft Alliance School of Art and Design since 2015.
National and International Woodturning demonstrator since 2014
I began teaching woodturning virtually in 2018 and have had many dozens of successful classes. I also host regular Live virtual events on Facebook every week.
As to teaching style, I focus strongly on the basics but try to have students finish a project with each lesson. The best way to keep their attention is to have them end up with something they made with their own hands. Safe practices in the workshop are a must but having fun is also paramount.

Class was wonderful; I learned a lot, particularly as a result of Jeff's willinginess to spend time talking about sharpening tools and the correct way to sharpen. This has become a real hurdle to my improvement in turning, so I was grateful for that time.
