About
I'm a singer/songwriter & recording artist with a Bachelor's degree in contemporary music from Greenville College in Illinois.
I was also trained at The Contemporary Music Center which was an exclusive program for artists to get a taste of the music industry. This included being mentored by professional Nashville songwriter Kate York, who is a featured songwriter on ABC's tv show "Nashville".
This prepared me for recording two studio records (piano, vocals, lyrics) at professional recording studio in Los Angeles, CA. I've also recorded several demo's with piano, guitar, vocals & original lyrics in indie studios as well.
My performance experience ranges from house concerts to wedding gigs & Nashville showcases.
I strive to make music as simple as possible while providing students the skills and knowledge to learn music they love.
I see myself as an encouraging guide, helping the student accomplish their goals with accountability along the way to help them be successful.
I have taught lessons in several professional settings such as Music & Arts, Guitar Center, & School of Rock. I have also taught at several independently owned private studios over the years as well.

I am the featured pianist, vocalist & songwriter on this recording.
I value the basics, such as scales, technique and reading music.
However my specialty is pop music theory. This is the essential elements of music theory as applied to pop music. This includes learning chords patterns, chord progressions & how to read a lead sheet.
I find that students catch on to this method quicker than complicated curriculums.
This allows me to be able to help any novice play their favorite song that they hear on the radio or Itunes.
