I have been teaching music for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it, originally being trained on piano. I specifically learned ukulele in order to play it at my wedding (I'd love to tell you that story) and have never set it down. I love playing ukulele because it is fun, totally portable, and instantly recognizable. I love TEACHING ukulele because it is fun and easy to get up-and-running (you'll be playing songs at the end of your first lesson). Let me teach you how fun the uke is!
Teaching Style
Each lesson we will focus on new chords, strum patterns, picking patterns and songs. I will bring my favorite songs to the lessons but I want to find out what styles and songs you like. Picking songs you know and enjoy makes it easier and so much more enjoyable to practice!
Curriculum
I will provide you with lesson notes at each session which include chord charts and songs.
Credentials & Affiliations
I am the owner and Artistic Director of Spotlight Studios for the Performing Arts in Fairport NY (a suburb of Rochester NY). We offer private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, acting and audition prep. My instrument focus is piano, guitar and ukulele.
