About

Hello, I'm John Tracy.

I will help you build your voice and forge your singing identity. Having completed two degrees in music (Voice Opera, and Jazz Performance) from both Paris (France) and Montreal (Canada), I have been performing, writing, composing, and teaching/coaching singers and musicians for over 15 years.

My students come from different backgrounds, from 6 to 75 years old.
Anyone who has a strong ambition and a will for personal growth is greeted with open arms. Remember that 90% of the challenge is up to you (student) to work on. I am your coach, your tutor, and it is my duty to guide you through and to lead you to your destination, which is finding the best in you and improving it.

Lessons can be given in:
English
French
Italian
Arabic

Having graduated from the Conservatoire in Paris (Prof. Yves Sotin) and McGill University (Prof. Stefano Algieri), John is an Opera singer (tenor), pianist, composer, arranger and art director. John performed several opera roles and religious works, such as Le Nozze di Figaro, The Magic Flute, La Finta Giardiniera (Mozart), La Belle Hélène (Offenbach), Les Indes Galantes (Rameau), Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), L’Arlésienne (Bizet), Haydée (Auber),  in renowned theaters such as the Unesco Palace (Paris and Beirut), the Imperial Theater of Compiegne (France), the Place des Arts (Montreal) and the Salle Bourgie (Montreal).

John is also a voice instructor, a studio coach and an art director, handling projects for several artists local and international artists.

I do not believe in one way of teaching, it all depends on the needs of each individual. However, I stick to the following logic:

1) Learning techniques and the basics
2) Practicing and knowing how to practice
3) Developing the right tools with the student
4) Teaching the student how to become independent
