About

Originally from Pittsburgh, Jordana is a 22 year-old flutist currently pursuing her Master of Music degree at Boston University, where she studies with Linda Toote. Previously, she obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto where she studied under Kelly Zimba and Camille Watts and graduated with honors. She has been the recipient of numerous scholarships, including the Anna Margaret Wallace And Willam Alexander Mccoy Scholarships, Arthur Plettner Scholarship, Ezra Schabas Performance Award, and Ian R Dalton Music Scholarship.

In past summers, Jordana participated in the Scotia Festival Young Artists Program, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute, and the New York University Woodwinds Intensive; additionally, she spent one summer abroad in Vienna and studied with Furugh Karimi. She has also performed in many ensembles, including the New England Philharmonic, the Boston University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and a wide variety of chamber ensembles.

Additionally, Jordana enjoys collaborating with her peers in various student initiatives, such the Green Room Sound Collective, where performance and composition students collaborate to debut new music. She also served as the principal flute of the Toronto Chamber Symphony, a student-led chamber orchestra, in their 2022-23 season.

My teaching style is centered around fostering a supportive and creative environment where students gain the tools that allow them to express themselves through music. I believe in tailoring lessons to each student's individual interests, learning pace, and goals, ensuring that they remain engaged and motivated throughout their musical journey. By combining structured learning with flexibility and encouragement, I strive to grow a love for music while nurturing the unique talents and abilities of each student.
