About
I am an international performing artist (pianist, composer and educator) from Peru, based in Los Angeles CA. Graduate of Berklee College of Music. I have performed and collaborated with world-class artists and film composers of the industry including Thomas Chase Jones (known for the music for "Power Puff Girls"), Philip Giffin (known for "The Simpsons"), Susana Baca, Oscar Stagnaro, Ramon Stagnaro and Alex Acuña.
I am a passionate music educator with more than 15 years of experience. My lessons are personally driven. I help my students with the vast musical knowledge that I have, depending on their taste, goals, and needs. I believe in allowing each of my students to explore their personal connection to music by unveiling what makes them musically unique. I will ask you about the music that excites you, and will teach you some new music that I find concordant to our own learning path.
I am experienced with a large variety of musical genres - from Jazz, Blues, Funk, Rock and Pop to Latin, Salsa, Merengue, Basilian, World, Classical and Orchestral music. I like to introduce my students to various different styles of music so as to find what they resonate with the most and dive deep into it. My favorite part about teaching is exploring the student’s creativity and innate sense of music. I like to work with my students on developing their ears so as to gain independence and ability to learn things on their own. I incentivize my students to create something of their own - whether a song, a piece, or just a small idea, and seeing how we can explore and develop it together.
If you wish to study well-rounded music lessons, I’d be delighted to share everything I know with you. We can go on a journey combining piano, harmony, composition, music theory and even some production, learning to explore things from various different angles and getting a broad and deep understanding of music. Teaching Style

Curriculum
My methodology is a combination of strategies that I learned at Berklee College of Music with my own personal techniques developed over the years.
I like to generally divide each session in two parts. The first one will always be more technique, reading and music theory orientated, while the second one will be based on the personal music repertoire that I am developing with the student. I like to build the repertoire together mixing styles of the student's preference with some of my suggestions including jazz and classical concepts that ultimately help us for any contemporary musical style that wishes to be mastered.
