LEARN HOW TO PLAY, WRITE , AND SING LIKE ELTON JOHN , RAY CHARLES, and more

Piano , songwriting, music production, and voice lessons (Soul / R&B , Blues, Pop/ Rock, Country , Jazz)

" He can really play them keys" - Dr. John

" Josh Charles brings the old school soul with a new school vibe...singer / songwriter / producer and performer- the whole package" - John Oates from Hall & Oates

I have been a professional recording artist for over 30 years on Sony / UMG / WEA and many indie labels. I received my degree from NYU School of Music Business and also attended University of Michigan ( Jazz studies ) and Manhattan School of Music ( Jazz Piano ). However , the greatest education I got was being mentored by the legendary Dr. John in the stylings of New Orleans, Funk, Gospel, Blues piano and the ultimate jazz bebop teacher - Barry Harris. In addition, I have written songs with everyone from John Oates of Hall and Oates to current pop and country no. 1 hit songwriters. I am a Grammy NARAS voting member , an active recording artist with my band ASHRR, and I have a passion for teaching enthusiastic students. I have been playing professionally since I was a teenager. Throughout the years , I've been teaching on and off for 20 years everything from New Orleans Funk , Songwriting, production, and voice when time permits. I have taught masterclasses at Steinway Hall in NYC and performed around the world touring with everyone from The Neville Brothers to Joss Stone.

In addition , I have produced many full big-band orchestral albums here in LA at Capitol, East West, United and more and have also placed several songs in film / tv and more.

LIMITED AVAILABILITY - Currently, I am accepting a a few select students for online teaching or in person if nearby locally. Every student has different needs and I will work with you to teach you the skills that you are personally looking for in order to further your musical ambitions. I do not believe in one size fits all approach to teaching.

This music is very difficult to teach in a formal way so I work with each student to help them understand the fundamentals of the "feel" as well as the techniques and styles
