Hello, my name is Josiah Nelson! I have played fiddle and mandolin my whole life (Or at least most of it). I want to share with you my knowledge of the two little instruments. I absolutely love both of these instruments and hope to show you why!
I started out with competition style fiddle and used that knowledge to compete in competitions all over the country. I have taken home many titles including Colorado Young Adult State Champion. My professional music career started in 2015 playing Western Swing and cowboy style fiddle with the Lazy B Chuckwagon out of Estes Park Colorado.
Currently, I play primarily bluegrass fiddle and mandolin. I am the mandolin player for The Tray Wellington Band. I have been lucky enough to spend time playing music with and learning from many of my bluegrass heroes including Wyatt Rice, Hunter Berry, and countless others.
One-on-one instruction. I prefer to teach directly to my students to create a safe and comfortable environment for all skill levels. I like to find out what you are doing right and emphasize those things as well as pinpoint where you might need help. My hope is to help you find your voice on your instrument!
