Jovana Popovic
About
Jovana Stankovic Popovic (born in 1987 in Belgrade, Serbia) gained primary music education in “Dr Vojislav Vuckovic” music school working with professor Mirjana Savic and then finished it along with secondary education, working with professor Ivana Popovic.
She participated in many regional and international competitions and won several prizes, of which are outstanding:
"Davorin Jenko" Woodwind competition in 2003.,2005.,2008.2009. - I prize, and in 2010. II prize
Republic competition in 2005 - III prize
"Petar Konjovic"International competition of young musicians in 2005. and 2010. - II prize
"Davorin Jenko"International woodwind competition in 2008. – chamber music category, II prize
At the age of 20, Jovana was semifinalist of Jeunesses Musical International competition in Belgrade in 2007, competing in category of age limit of 30.
During her primary, secondary and faculty education, she performend in many school and faculty concerts in several Belgrade city halls and in other cities of Serbia. During her studies she held a number of solo concerts and concerts of chamber music in Belgrade galleries of SANU and ARTGET,and also performed in the flute quartet for The Belgrade Night of Museum in 2007.
Jovana actively attended many master courses of world’s famous flutists : Janos Balint (Hungary), Ljubisa Jovanovic (Serbia), Vincent Lucas (France), Dejan Gavric (Serbia/Germany), Shigenori Kudo (Japan), Jonatan Keeble (USA), Julie Koidin (USA), Andrea Oliva (Italy).
She also participated in chamber music master class, held by Lidija Bizjak (Slovenia), and in two cycles of Didactic Concerts, held in 2007. and 2009. in cities all over Serbia, and has been part of Maribor International Youth Orchestra in 2012, performing at the concerts held in Maribor and Ljubljana (SLO), Belgrade (SRB), and Imola and Pesaro (ITA). She was active participant of two-week master course of flute (Vienna-Prague-Budapest, ISA organisaton), held by Felix Renggli (Switzerland) in Payerbach, Austria in 2009.
She has obtained two M.A. diplomas in Flute performance: from the Faculty of music in Belgrade (class prof.Ljubisa Jovanovic), and Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “O.Vecchi-A.Tonelli” di Modena in Italy, working with maestros Andrea Oliva, Michele Marasco and Gabriele Betti. Jovana plays on silver flute Yamaha 674H.
