I earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from DePaul University School of Music with a minor in trumpet performance. I have been performing throughout the Mid West and around the World for over 25 years. I toured the USSR and Poland with the DePaul University Wind Ensemble. Several years ago, my big band opened for the Glenn Miller Orchestra. My trio has played for former First Lady Barbara Bush, Dr. Bob Arnot, Marsha Williams and more well known people.
I teach band/private lessons 4th grader through high school. For the past 8 years I have been the brass instructor for an Honors Wind Ensemble. Through my instruction the group earned it's first Division I Rating in District Competition. The group has earned District I each year as I continue to instruct them. My students are members of the Chicago Youth Symphony, Naperville Symphony Orchestra, Each year many of my private students earn a spot in ILMEA. Several are section leader/principal players. I prepare my seniors for their college auditions which earn them scholarships and high honors.

I take a student by student approach. Yes, I have music that I recommend each student study and practice but I gear that towards strengths and weaknesses of each player. So it's more of a custom approach. I use SmartMusic and PDFs of music to keep interest up. Lessons are a mix of tone studies, scales, band music of they are in a school band program, a solo and some jazz if the student has the interest.
