Hi!
I'm Julia, I'm 16 and I love teaching and playing guitar! I've been playing for almost 10 years and playing on jazz and rock bands. I have been teaching beginner lessons to kids ages 5&up for 2 years.
I specialize in blues, RnB, funk, and rock. In addition to playing, listening, and teaching guitar, I am very passionate about advocating for female guitarists in the music industry and encouraging young girls to play guitar. I recently gave a TEDx Talk about women guitar players and their importance in guitar culture. It can be viewed in the link. Please check it out!
I teach an introduction to the guitar by starting off with key concepts such as developing a "vocabulary" of basic guitar chord shapes and the ability to change between those chords effectively as well play beginner solo lines and more "advanced" technical and theoretical areas such as Power and Bar Chords.
I also teach songs that utilize the skills being covered.
